Description:

With the advent of so many AI tools, the process of developing and writing grant proposals is undergoing a transformative shift. These tools promise to streamline tasks, potentially enabling your organization to apply for more grants and secure greater funding. But the sheer volume and complexity of available AI technologies can be daunting, leaving many grant professionals feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about where to begin.

During this two-day workshop series (4.14 & 4.15), David Gates and Alice Ruhnke will guide you from the fundamentals of AI all the way through advanced strategies, giving you a comprehensive, practical foundation for using AI to transform your grant writing from start to finish.

You'll learn:
  • how the top AI tools for grant professionals compare, including ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini;
  • how to set up your account with tailored memory;
  • how to maintain privacy when using AI;
  • why templates and source materials are a grant writer's best friend when using AI, and how to put them to work;
  • how to summarize and interact with impact data and evaluation results;
  • how to build a repeatable AI-assisted grant writing workflow; and
  • how to use advanced features such as projects, deep research, and Custom GPTs effectively.

Each task will be demonstrated in one of the three tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) with additional instructions provided so you can apply it across whichever platform you prefer.

Who should attend:

This workshop series is ideal for nonprofit professionals looking to harness AI in their work. Whether you're just starting out or seeking to advance your grant writing capabilities, you'll leave with the skills and confidence to use AI throughout your entire grantseeking journey.

After the series, you'll receive:
  • slides and handouts; and,
