United Way of the Plains invests in nonprofit programs in south central Kansas, including parts of Barber, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Pratt, Reno, Sedgwick, and Sumner counties.

The Opportunity on the Plains program provides grants to health and human service programs that help meet the most pressing needs in their communities, through a framework based on the social determinants of a strong and healthy community.
