There is an unfortunate presumption among many that education ends when one becomes a working adult. However, continuing adult education is essential not only for the quality of life of the individual, but of the state as a whole. Continuing education not only improves career prospects, but allows citizens to be less vulnerable to the disinformation that has spread like wildfire in the modern world.

There are many nonprofits who make adult education their mission, but they are only able to pursue this goal due generous adult education grants. With this funding, nonprofits can operate a wide range of adult education programs. These could include GED programs, workforce training, ESL classes and digital literacy initiatives.

Adult education grants can come from a wide range of sources. These can include federal or state programs, such as the U.S. Department of Education. There are also many private foundations that have made adult education one of their goals, including the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy.

When drafting an adult education grant proposal, it's important to stress both the gaps in adult education, and the benefits gained from filling those gaps.
