Across the world, there are many nonprofits doing excellent work in supporting LGBTQ+ communities. These communities may face a wide range of challenges daily, with the severity depending on their location. These challenges can include discrimination, violence and mental health issues.

LGBTQ+ serving nonprofits rely on the essential funding from LGBTQ grants in order to continue their charitable activities. These activities range from a wide selection of programs and purposes. These can include advocacy campaigns, legal aid, healthcare programs, mental health initiatives, educational workshops and community-building events.

LGBTQ grants come from a wide range of sources. Often these are private foundations, such as the Arcus Foundation or the Gill Foundation.
