Photography is both an artform and a record of our world. It is one of the most direct forms of digital storytelling, bringing experiences that can amuse, intrigue or galvanize its viewers. Many nonprofits are dedicated to supporting photographers in their work to catalogue both the natural and human worlds and moments. These artistic nonprofits rely on photography grants in order to keep up the good work of many photography equipment and training accessible to all.

The funding from photography grants can be used to host exhibitions, offer workshops, preserve culturally relevant photography collections and help provide photography equipment and technology to those who cannot normally afford it.

Nonprofits looking to find photography grants can get them from a few sources. Many arts councils and private foundations will offer grants specifically for photography projects.
